Flower Care
Fresh flowers are a fleeting kind of magic—but with a little care, you can stretch their beauty. Follow these tips to get the most out of your Bloom Harvest bouquet.
Quick Care Tips
Place your flowers in water as soon as possible, then follow these essentials:
Trim stems at a 45° angle before placing in water
Use a clean vase with cool water
Change the water daily to keep bacteria at bay
Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources
Keep away from fruit and veggies (they release ethylene gas, which speeds up wilting)
Remove wilted blooms
Some blooms—like zinnias and sunflowers are considered “dirty flowers” because they release more debris into the water. Add a drop of bleach to the vase to keep the water clean and help the flowers last longer.
Flowers Looking Sad After the Ride Home?
If your bouquet looks a little tired after the drive:
Trim the stems and place them in cool water
Let them rehydrate in a cool, dark place (like a basement or bathroom) for 3+ hours
Then arrange as usual
Styling Tips
Choose the right vase:
Use a vase that's about ½ to ⅔ the height of your tallest flower stems for balanced proportions.
The shape of your vase can make all the difference in how your bouquet looks:
Wide-mouth vases or jars are lovely—but they need more stems to feel full. Without enough blooms, the arrangement can look sparse or fall flat.
Tapered or narrow-necked vessels support stems better and are ideal for smaller bouquets. They help flowers stay upright and grouped without needing extra filler.
When in doubt, start with a tapered shape—especially if you're working with a petite bundle.
Don’t crowd the stems—breathing room helps them last longer
